Can Wiener Dogs be trusted (as contractors)?
While I’m positive Doxie Don meant well, he quickly found he was in over his head with these projects! Remember, if an unlicensed Handyman tells you he can do work over $500.00 (labor AND materials, even if you buy the materials) he is breaking the law and you have no protection with the Contractor’s State License Board! Check the license of your contractor here before scheduling a service call.

Special thanks to the Doxie Din project for producing the video!
But if you had to use dogs for contractors, what kind of dog should you hire?
Breed | Why They’d Excel on Site |
---|---|
Border Collie | Laser-focused, quick learners, and great at managing chaos—ideal for site coordination. |
Labrador Retriever | Strong, friendly, and eager to help—perfect for hauling tools or boosting team morale. |
German Shepherd | Loyal, intelligent, and protective—excellent for security and safety oversight. |
Rottweiler | Muscular and determined—great for heavy lifting and guarding the perimeter. |
Australian Cattle Dog | Tenacious and tireless—would thrive in demanding tasks like surveying or groundwork. |
Bernese Mountain Dog | Gentle giants with serious strength—ideal for pulling carts or assisting with materials. |
Jack Russell Terrier | Small but mighty—perfect for crawling into tight crawlspaces or inspecting ductwork. |
And of course, every job site needs a foreman—probably a wise old Golden Retriever with a clipboard in his mouth and a hard hat slightly askew.
That being said, do not hire dogs to work on your house. It won’t go well.
