Laminate Floor Repairs &
Laminate Floor Handyman Replacements

Request Appointment
Greetings!

Edward's Enterprises is a General Contractor & Hourly Handyman here to help you with your laminate wood floors project or carpet removal & hauling at your home or business.

Laminate Flooring can give you the look & feel of wood at a fraction of the cost, & laminate wood flooring doesn't need to be refinished like natural wood flooring does. Consider laminate flooring in areas of your home with high traffic, like hallways & common areas.   Learn how our team works together on removing & hauling worn-out flooring or install padding underlayment throughout our site.
Let's get started!

Edward's Enterprises team can do many laminate flooring repairs such as:

  • Laminate, carpet, tile floor removal & hauling

  • Replace laminate snap together planks

  • Install laminate baseboard trim

  • Replace laminate quarter round

  • Repairing laminate wood flooring

  • Laminate floors replaced

  • Laminate (Pergo, Wilsonart, etc.) flooring installed

  • New laminate padding

  • Laminate underlayment replaced

  • Laminate transition installs (to tile, carpet, stone)

While laminate will not hold up as well in wet areas, like bathrooms, it also can be a very attractive option for bedrooms. Have a small area of laminate that is damaged? If the selection is still available, or if you kept enough stock from the original install, we can often patch in a new piece to save the cost of replacing the entire floor.

Wondering if we can assist you with your laminate floor replacement or handyman service? Call our team to explain your laminate floor repair project!

Laminate flooring is a great choice because it allows for the look of hardwood yet it avoids the high level of maintenance. Even though the maintenance is lower than hardwood floors, laminate floors still do need to be cleaned regularly. A way to do this is by first sweeping the floor to remove loose dust & debris. Then use a soft brush attachment & vacuum the floor. Make sure to get the corners well because dust & pet hair tends to accumulate.

Then use a laminate floor cleaner to clean the floor. This cleaner can be purchased at most home improvement stores. After you use the cleaner dampen a sponge mop & run it over the area where the floor cleaner is. Make sure to go with the grain of the wood with smooth even strokes. Afterwards, you should rinse off the mop in clean water. Finally, you should be able to let the floor air dry, unless the floor cleaner says otherwise.

Next, we have some quick tips on floor stain removals. If you have a grease stain, an easy tip is to apply an ice pack to the area & allow the grease to harden. Then gently scrape off the stain with a knife or spoon. Any remaining residue can be wiped away with window cleaner. Crayon marks can be cleaned off with mineral spirits or toothpaste. Heel marks & scuffs can be rubbed away using a pencil eraser or Mr. Clean magic eraser. The last stain removal tip is for liquor. This can be cleaned off using a damp cloth of warm water & detergent. Simply rub the area until the stain disappears.

A Few Steps for Quiet, Brand-New Laminate Flooring
Make sure you've got your lamination set around the proper spaces for expansion, & that you've secured these all relatively in advance. Implement these spaces around any types of areas of the home, or even hard objects, that are more “fixed”, such as sliding glass, pipes, cabinets, hearths, & more. You get the idea. It may also be wise to then install the underlayment pad, remembering that different laminated floors will carry different amounts of “thickness”, respectively.

How Does Each Component Play a Vital Role?
In the final layout of things, you've got the carpet at the top, which visually covers all else & is soft & warm to the touch, usually. But directly under that, there is the carpet pad, for rebonding. Under the carpet pad, there are the dimple subfloor, the original underlying floor structure, a few joist bottoms under that, a group of resilient metal channels beneath, which are right above padding tape, most often, cut wool fibers, closed cell foam, &, of you're on a higher floor, ceiling board under it all.

    Underlayment Options
To go a little further into this, & as you've likely noted, from the last point, there are definitely options. Three, in particular, come to mind, which have delivered great results before. They are foam, cork & felt.

    Efficiency
These are tremendous sound absorbers, the last three underlayment choices mentioned.

    Budget
It truly depends. How much you want to spend, starting from $50 to $500, roughly speaking? You get to decide.

Can you fix water damaged laminate flooring?

Repairs on your laminate floor will depend on the nature of the water damages. If the damages are minor, you can fix the small area and move on, but you might opt to replace the whole room’s floor in cases of severe damages.

Can you fix swollen laminate flooring?

If your laminate flooring has swelled due to moisture, you should disassemble it and install new pieces. A hair drier won’t work since water damages cannot be reversed, and you should also consider future occurrences.
