Upgrading your kitchen faucet is one of the quickest ways to refresh the look and feel of your space. Whether the old one is leaking, outdated, or just doesn’t match your style anymore, replacing it is a practical project with noticeable impact.

Why Replace Your Faucet?

  • Improved Efficiency: New models often come with better water flow, sprayer options, and water-saving features.
  • Updated Style: A sleek, modern faucet can transform your kitchen’s aesthetic instantly.
  • Fix Drips & Leaks: Say goodbye to annoying leaks that waste water and drive up your bill.

At Edward’s Enterprises, we help clients swap out fixtures all the time—here’s how the process typically unfolds.

Tools & Materials You’ll Need

  • Adjustable wrench
  • Basin wrench (for tight spots)
  • Plumber’s putty or silicone caulk
  • Towels or bucket (for catching water)

You’ll Also Need A New Faucet

Here are some of the places we like to get ours:

Of course Lowes and Home Depot have a wide selection of faucets that we install all the time.

Delta Faucets also has a wide selection of faucets that work well in a lot of homes.

If you want a little more unique style, Kohler is a supplier we use a lot.

Finally Signature Hardware is a reliable source for understated designs and Kraus has some modern looks that work very well with today’s modern kitchens.

Now You’re Ready To Get To Work.

Step 1: Shut Off Water Supply

First, locate the water supply valves under your sink and turn them clockwise to shut off the flow. Open the faucet to release any remaining pressure and drain the lines.

Step 2: Disconnect the Water Lines

Use an adjustable wrench to loosen the nuts connecting the water supply lines to the faucet. Keep a bucket or towel underneath to catch any drips.

Step 3: Remove Mounting Hardware

Underneath the sink, use a basin wrench to reach and remove the nuts or mounting bracket holding the faucet in place. Once loosened, lift the old faucet straight out from above.

Step 4: Clean the Sink Surface

Before installing the new faucet, clean any old putty or grime from the sink surface to ensure a watertight seal.

Step 5: Install the New Faucet

Set the new faucet into the sink openings. Apply plumber’s putty or silicone around the base if recommended. Secure it with the provided mounting hardware from underneath, using the basin wrench.

Step 6: Reconnect Water Lines

Attach the water supply lines to the new faucet using the adjustable wrench, making sure not to overtighten.

Step 7: Test & Check for Leaks

Turn the water back on and test the faucet. Check underneath for any leaks and ensure everything is flowing smoothly.
