Cleaning and maintaining a stained and sealed (rather than a painted) patio cover or gazebo is very important so that the structure holds up well over the years and lasts a long time. There are different ways and methods to clean or preserve a shade structure; some of these depend on the type of material used to create the patio. These include wood, concrete, tile, stone, brick and many more.
 
One option to lighten and clean old timbers of a patio cover or shade cover is to use Hydrogen Peroxide, which will lighten old timbers and evaporates away leaving no residue.
 
If a mechanical option is preferred, a jet washer can be used to clean patios but it should not be a heavy duty one and preferably one that is less than 1500 psi with a wide fan jet.
 
After you have cleaned your patio and brightened it up as wanted, then it is time for the sealing. Use a waterproof patio sealer because it will repel water and make the patio last longer. To apply the sealer, use a pad with a little reservoir and brush the sealer on. Make sure to evenly coat it all over the patio surface and then let it dry. After about an hour or so of drying time, buff the surface to remove wet excess.

Rates listed above are the usual check or cash rates per hour for labor charged to our customers for repairing aluminum patio covers and wooden gazebos (not including dump disposal fees or materials).
 
Larger patio cover or awning projects may need an onsite consultation before starting any work. This way we can take measurements, photographs, and prepare a material and scope of work plan.

Carpentry Patio Cover Remodel - CarpentryWe charge for all time included in a customer's project, including purchasing or delivering materials, and offsite work like painting lumber prior to an installation, or for the time to haul away debris. This allows us to take on smaller projects for our patio cover and arbor clients, rather than only lump sum projects with much higher minimums to show up.

    When are you available for work?

    Edward's Enterprises carpentry repair services is usually available:

     

    Office: Monday through Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm by phone in our office to schedule carpentry projects and ask questions about service.

     
    Field: As far as scheduling work, for our typical rates listed above (I know we did not skip that section) we normally schedule work Monday through Friday from 7am to 4pm (holidays, meetings, kids with flus may affect availability).

    Carpentry Patio Cover Repair - CarpentryMost projects get a 3 hour window of arrival, so expect something like 7am to 10am, or 10am to 1pm, or even 12pm to 3pm window.
     
    We are available for emergency carpentry work based on a first come first serve basis and whether or not we have a crew available. Expect to pay more for these types of calls (we have employees and overtime is what it is).
     
    If you need us to come outside of those times, expect to pay a bit more, or experience different restrictions like job minimums, etc.
