Edward's Enterprises is a General Contractor and Hourly Handyman here to help you with your damaged stucco corners, or stucco removal inside or outside your home or business.

  Depending on the surface, applying stucco can be a time consuming task, and often when a small repair comes up larger installers are too busy to handle the call, or just are not setup to handle a small hourly job. Durable, attractive, and weather-resistant, stucco works to keep a home looking great year after year, especially in our Southern California climate. Resistant to termites, without the concern of peeling paint from wood or cementious siding, and coming in several finish options it is a very versatile building material and popular with tract home builders as well as custom homes and additions. Even homes that are built with siding, stone, or other front facing materials often have stucco on the sides and rear for durability and to control cost. Stucco can also be colored to one's desire.
 
After having difficulty finding small stucco repair and patch handyman service companies for several projects we were doing, we realized we needed to develop that skill internally and offer that service to the broader community. We now do stucco patching for sprinkler damaged stucco, vehicle damaged garage stucco, stucco replacement around windows and doors, and stucco installation around new electrical panels for upgrades and solar installations. Offering an hourly service we can help homeowners and other contractors with their stucco repair needs without the hassle of finding a company that specializes in whole homes (most of our stucco repairs are under $500.00)

What are the hourly charges?

Edward's Enterprises' hourly labor rates for stucco patching projects start out at:

 

Start at $100* an hour Per Employee, 3 Hour Minimum.

 
Rates listed above are the typical check or cash rates charged for prepping and patching small areas of stucco around windows, doors and panels (not including dump disposal fees or materials).
 
Some stucco repairs (like areas on 2 story homes, or larger areas of repair) may be more than 1 employee can handle, so we would send 2 or more of our employees for higher rates than listed above.

Painting Stucco Electrical Panel Texture - PaintingWe charge for all time included in a customer's project, including purchasing or delivering materials or for the time to haul away debris. This allows us to take on smaller projects for our wall repair clients, rather than only lump sum projects with much higher minimums to show up.

*Hourly charge is from $100 to $125 or more PER EMPLOYEE depending on the work site zip code. Some exclusions do apply, like same-day, after hours or weekend service or customers with pre-arranged billing agreements.

    When are you available for work?

    Great Question! Edward's Enterprises is usually available for painting requests:

     

    Office: Monday through Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm by phone in our office to schedule patch projects and ask questions about painting service.

     
    Field: As far as scheduling work appointments, for our typical rates listed above (I know we did not skip that section) we normally schedule work Monday through Friday from 7:00am to 4:00pm (holidays, meetings, kids with flus may affect availability).

    Painting Stucco Hole Patch Texture - PaintingMost projects get a 3 hour window of arrival, so expect something like 7:00am to 10:00am, or 10:00am to 1:00pm, or even 12:00pm to 3:00pm window.
     
    We are available for emergency painting work based on a first come first serve system and whether or not we have a crew available. Expect to pay more for these types of calls (we have employees and overtime is what it is).
     
    If you need us to come outside of our regular times, expect to pay a bit more, or experience different restrictions like job minimums, etc.

    The most common type of damage for stucco is water. Water is the when it comes to stucco. Most deterioration and infrastructure damage is caused by water infiltration. Most often the damage occurs through the roof, around chimneys, windows, door openings and excessive ground water. Water infiltration will cause wood lath to rot and metal lath and nails to rust, which will eventually lead to the stucco losing its bond and pulling away from its substrate. One way to reduce the risk of water damage is to try and keep excess water away from the stucco. This can be done by redirecting water run off, improving drainage and fixing any repairs.
     
    It is important that a home owner inspect their home and stucco regularly. They should look around to ensure that water has not entered the walls and that no mold or bugs are present. Regular inspections will help to maintain the home and that way no surprises sneak up on you.

    Types of Stucco Textures
    Cat Face Textures, for one, are those that are also called, by some in the industry, “inclusions”. They are generally smooth, but they can also hold some rough spots. Trowel Textures (Lace and Skip, as they are mostly called) are highly common as well. In fact, they are the first kind people usually think of when thinking of Stucco. They are great for so many things, at once, like hiding imperfections.
     
    Good Choices for Stucco Finishing
    In terms of finishes, Dash Finishes, for one, are terrific. Spray and splatter. Get light, medium or heavy finishing with it. Then there is also the well known Pebbledash type of finish, which is usually used to cover the surface of any wet coating, at the end of the process. Sand, or Float, finishes, work great as well, especially when you need to make some sand textures and want to show them off. You can apply this in medium or heavy applications.
     
    The Overall Value of Getting the Right Textures and Finishes, of Stucco.
    There is infinite worth that comes from getting it “just right”, here, and the overall visual appeal and “life” of your home will definitely thank you for it.
     
    Efficiency
    All the aforementioned texture and finish options are some of the best out there — they offer great durability and resistance, a solid lifespan of at least a few years (when applied properly and enforcing thoroughly).
     
    Budget
    You will need a caulk gun, perhaps, these textures and finishes, tiles, rocks, sand, and a ready set of hands. Budget first. Spend anywhere from $30-$500 or more.

    Are stucco patches waterproof?
     
    Stucco is designed to be water-resistant, but it can allow water to enter inside when a crack occurs. The affected stucco can then be damaged – not waterproof.

    How long does it take for stucco patch to dry?
     
    Depending on the humidity, patch depth, and temperature, the stucco will take an average of 30 30 minutes to form the surface skin and about 2 hours to become rigid. You should wait around 24 hours before you paint (with latex paint only), and you will cure the stucco for up to 3 days to achieve perfection.
